Hi Date-san When I heard your retairment from my frined, I couldn't belive it. However, you decided. I want to tell that you encourage me many many times. Now, I live in california; I go to U.C.L.A. Even though I don't have to work here because my parents support me, living in a foreigh country is not so easy. I know some people from other countries, came to the U.S. with many hopes, and lost their hopes becuase they couldn't adjust new county and cluture. I do not want write detail about these people. Myself, I neary dropped out from the life in several times; however, I didn't becuase I hve some very nice freind, my supported family, and you. I have been touched by your play so much. Hi Kimiko !! I was very much saddened to hear of your retirement. Your elegant style of play and gritty determination on the court are a true inspiration to us all. I began to follow your career early this year and was immediately impressed. You are a wonderful fresh face on the tour. It is very sad to see you retire at a high point in your career ... and I think you have not even reached your peak yet !! Your shoes will indeed be very hard to fill ... but hopefully others like Ai and Naoko can strive to succeed carry on the tradition of honor and determination and grace that you have exemplified. I wanted to see you play live at the Olympics in Atlanta but unfortunately things didn't work out. Then I hoped I could see you play live at another US tournament. I may now never get the chance. It is a big surprise for me to hear that Kimiko is gonna to retire after the year-end tournament, you (Kimiko) properly bring us a new perspective to the world of tennis. hello kimiko, I am sidney from, lafayette, Louisiana. Well i am a black 18 year old boy who is a freshman in college at the university of southwestern louisiana. I just started playing tennis this year, for the first time, but iI have been watching tennis forever on T.V. I just want to tell you that you are a very talented young lady. I always enjoyed how you always tried and never gave up in your matches, you are one of my favorite tennis players in the world. You are a great role model forpeople especially the japanese. I really am going to miss watching how you serve the ball and how you look so elegant while playing, almost like a robot arm when you would hit the ball. I think you are so cool kimiko, you are one of my role models in the game of tennis. I am real sad that you are leaving tennis, I have a tear in my eye while I write this. Impressive! Inspirational! I have only seen Kimiko in two matches and she brings something special to the sport of tennis.
