Team Finland in Japan
Embassy of Finland in Tokyo promotes bilateral relations between Finland and Japan and guards Finland’s political and economic interests in Japan. Embassy is one of the key actors in carrying out Finland’s public diplomacy activities and making Finland better known in the world. The Ambassador leads Team Finland activities in Japan.
Business Finland is the Finnish innovation funding, trade, investment, and travel promotion organization, headquartered in Helsinki. Business Finland is fully owned by the Finnish Government. Business Finland employs 600 experts in 40 offices globally and in 20 regional offices around Finland.
Finnish Institute in Japan aims to promote the knowledge of Finnish culture, science, higher education, technology and economics, and cooperation between these fields between Finland and Japan. The institute identifies and anticipates the development and cooperation needs of both countries, particularly in science, culture and education, and helps potential partners to find one another.
Finnish Chamber of Commerce in Japan presents the Finnish business community in Japan. FCCJ’s aims to increase its members’ business success by providing information, know-how and networking opportunities to the highest standards.

Finland Chamber of Commerce and the 19 regional chambers of commerce help businesses succeed in Finland and internationally.
The Finncham network is an extensive and reliable trade promotion platform including 35 accredited Finnish Chambers of Commerce around the world. The purpose of the Finncham network is to support Finnish enterprises expanding their businesses globally. The Finland Chamber of Commerce coordinates the Finncham network in cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Business Finland, and the regional Chambers of Commerce across Finland.

Produced by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and published by the Finland Promotion Board, ThisisFINLAND was originally established in 1995 as Virtual Finland. We changed our name in the spring of 2009.

EU-Japan Trade
EU Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation
The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation is a unique venture between the European Commission and the Japanese Government. It is a non-profit organisation established as an affiliate of the Center for International Economic Collaboration (CIE). It aims at promoting all forms of industrial, trade and investment cooperation between the EU and Japan and at improving EU and Japanese companies’ competitiveness and cooperation by facilitating exchanges of experience and know-how between EU and Japanese businesses.

The Delegation of the European Union to Japan represents the EU in Japan. It enjoys the full status of a diplomatic mission and is led by the Head of Delegation.
European Business Council (EBC)
European Business Council (EBC) is the trade policy arm of 16 European National Chamber of Commerce and Business Associations in Japan and has been working to improve the trade and investment environment for European companies in Japan since 1972. The EBC was registered with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in 2008 as the European (EU) Chamber of Commerce in Japan.
Created in 1999, the Japan Business Council in Europe (JBCE) is a leading European organisation representing the interests of 85 multinational companies of Japanese parentage active in Europe. The members operate across a wide range of sectors, including information and communication technology, electronics, chemicals, automotive, machinery, wholesale trade, precision instruments, pharmaceutical, railway, textiles and glass products.
Collaborations with Other Countries and Chambers
Nordic Innovation House is co-funded by Nordic Innovation and the Nordic government agencies responsible for business growth within their respective countries. The fifth Nordic Innovation House is scheduled to open to Tokyo in 2020. The aim of the House is to create a Nordic community and network for connecting startups to high-quality mentors, networks of investors and funding opportunities as well as provide other business connections.
Innovation Lab Asia is a nonprofit initiative that seeks to improve and enhance cooperation between Nordic and Asian innovation ecosystems. They aim to provide a comprehensive knowledge-platform for those interested in seizing opportunities in Asia, as well as to establish concrete collaborations between startups, investors and other relevant actors.
JMEC - Japan Market Expansion Competition
The Japan Market Expansion Competition (JMEC) is a unique and long-standing business training program in Tokyo that centers around a business plan writing competition. The dual objectives of the program are to strengthen the skills of up-and-coming executives, while assisting foreign companies doing business in Japan. JMEC is supported by 18 Chambers of Commerce in Japan and has been offering the program for the past 26 years.
